You Don’t Have To Be Perfect To Start!

When we started with the blog in April 2011 we didn’t really know what was coming. It was cool to start a blog, but there was no real goal. The only thing I knew was that I wanted to begin something for myself. I wanted to be creative and build something with my own vision. I had a lot of doubts but I decided to start anyway. It’s a decision that I will never regret!

On a certain night (after 2 years of reading books and watching video’s) I got inspired to start a blog. There were 2 words that were circling in my head for a couple of days: ‘living good’. Unfortunately the address on blogspot was already taken. I wanted to start something so bad,I just added a third ‘g’. The blog: ‘livingggood.blogspot.com’ was born.

If your desire is strong and you are willing to put effort in it anything can happen.

I believe there is a big lesson hidden in this story. Even though the name with an extra ‘g’ doesn’t make sense and the design of the site was far from perfect, the website had over 50.000 visitors in one year. It tells me that you don’t have to get it perfect to start something. If your desire is strong and you are willing to put effort in it anything can happen.

Because of LivinggGOOD I became a more responsible person, I learned a lot in a very short time. I figured that I needed discipline if I want this website/movement to succeed. The discipline to keep creating new posts even though nobody is telling you to do so. The discipline to put some tweets on twitter every day even when nobody is reminding you. The discipline to keep going and never give up, even though some people find it amusing to hack your website. I think if I didn’t started this blog I wouldn’t have half of the discipline if have today!
